About New England Nets

(formerly Steven's Nets)

Owners and crafters, Scott and Joey Rolfe.

Who We Are

Scott and Joey are born and raised New Englanders and nature enthusiasts, creating the perfect couple to produce these heirloom quality nets. The pair love to camp and fish with their bird dog Nelly, lending ample opportunity to hand test product - and a great excuse to get out on the water.

Scott sources each piece of wood himself, working through a delicate and long process to then cut, bend, shape, sand, and finish each net. Joey attaches every bag by hand through an intentional method of sewing, as well as handling the packaging, and shipping.

Each net has a level of craftsmanship that can only be understood once held in your hands and can only come from two people who are truly passionate about what they do.

In the spring of 2020 on a trip for his own Stevens Net, Scott learned of the founders' plan to retire. After 25 years of crafting landing nets, Alan and Vicki, who reside in the neighboring state of Maine, decided to pass the torch onto the next fishing net crafters.

Stevens nets designed and crafted quality, handmade landing nets for anglers near and far. We feel it is an honor to continue their work through New England Nets by continuing to offer a handmade New England classic for anglers everywhere.
